今回は、8月29日から11月21日までイタリア・ヴェネツィアで行われる「第12回 ヴェネツィア・ビエンナーレ国際建築展」に出展する日本館のコンセプト映像を作成した。日本館のコミッショナーを務める建築家の北山恒さんから依頼を受け、日本館のコンセプトになっている「Tokyo Metabolizing」をテーマに、他の大都市とはまったく違うカタチで独自の変化を遂げていく東京の街並を、真俯瞰から航空撮影された写真を使い、長い時間をかけて定点観測された映像の様に住宅や建物が次々と入れ替わり、街全体が巨大な生命体の様に新陳代謝を繰り返していく様を映像化した。 【En】 WOW have provided the concept movie for the Japanese Pavilion at the 12th International Architecture Exhibition (la Biennale di Venezia) from 29 August to 21 November in Venice, Italy. Ko Kitayama, who is an architect and the commissioner of the Japanese pavilion, offered us to make a movie based on the concept of the Japanese Pavilion “Tokyo Metabolizing”, which expresses that the city of Tokyo has expanded in a very unique way with aerial photographs of overhead views such as a fixed-point observation for a long time. In the sequences, residences and buildings appear one after another, and thus the whole city have a metabolic change like a huge living organism.
